Swamy from Johny Walker is still alive, Kamal Gaur is not dead

Swamy, the villain character in Jayaraj directorial film Johny Walker which had released way back in 1990’s is still one of the best negative characters created in Mollywood. Renjith had created that role for Jayaraj opposite the lead played by Mammootty in that film. This iconic character was portrayed by Kamal Gaur. The long hair, tough looks and also the haunting background music which was associated with Swamy’s character had made him very popular during that time. Even though the film was not able to do much good at the box office the character played by Kamal Gaur had become a classic villain role. Later he acted in films like Highway and Janam but none of them became as popular as Swamy had become.

Then the actor had disappeared from films and no one had any clue about where he was or what he is doing. Then a news came out and spread that he was no more and at least some people believed it. But the fact stays true that he is not dead and he has acted in another Jayaraj film named Camel Safari in 2013 but no one had known about it. He had played a villain in that as well. Now Manu Jagath the art director of the Magnum opus film Baahubali had posted a photo with Kamal Gaur in his Facebook profile when he met him accidentally at Mandava in Rajasthan.

In fact the actor has been settled in Europe for almost 16 years and he has not made much public appearances also. He had made a directorial debut as well years ago with a film based on AIDS awareness Empathy. But most people were not aware of the fact that it was directed by him. He says that he had turned to a spiritual way of life now and it is that what attracts him now and he follows it.

Manu Jagath may have met him while the actor was undertaking such a spiritual journey through India. It makes us happy to know that he is still alive and now all can put a rest to the spreading of the fake news saying he isn’t.
