Tamil actor Karthi turns 43 today; Wishes pour in on social medias!

One of Tamil cinema’s top actors today, Karthi is celebrating his 43rd birthday today. The star is getting wishes from industry insiders, fans and well wishers from all corners. The hashtag #HappyBirthdayKarthi is trending in Twitter along with the birthday special common display picture.

Karthi, who belongs to a well-known cinema family in Kollywood, started his journey in the industry as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam in ‘Aayudha Ezhuthu’. He made his acting debut in 2007 with the widely acclaimed ‘Paruthiveeran’. Over the years, he has carved a niche for himself by starring in several hit films like ‘Paiyaa’, ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’, ‘Madras’, ‘Komban’, ‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru’, ‘Kadaikutty Singam’ and ‘Kaithi’.

Interestingly, Karthi has a very peculiar record. He has done 19 films so far as a lead actor and he is yet to work with the same director twice. He is set to break this trend with ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, which marks his second time union with the ace Mani Ratnam after ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’. Karthi is said to be playing the role of a king in this historical-epic that’s currently in the making.
