Telugu rights of Vijay’s Master already sold!

Thalapathy Vijay’s new film ‘Master’ is hot in demand in the market. The fact that it is director Lokesh’s immediate next after the blockbuster success of ‘Kaithi’ and the presence of a huge star cast has heightened the expectations on ‘Master’. Even before the completion of shoot, its Telugu rights have been sold for a huge price.

Reports suggest that the distribution rights of ‘Master’ in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana have been acquired by Mahesh Koneru for 8.5 crore rupees. Mahesh had distributed Vijay’s last film, ‘Bigil’ as well. Over the past few years, Vijay has been consistently expanding his fan base in the Telugu states and his last few films had also emerged successful there.

‘Master’ has already done massive pre-release business. While Sony Music India bought the audio rights, Amazon Prime bagged the streaming rights for a new record price. Sun TV has acquired the satellite rights. Besides that, the theatrical rights of Karnataka have also been sold.

‘Master’, as assured by the makers, will be completely different from Vijay’s earlier films. Along with Vijay, the film will see another big star, Vijay Sethupathi, in a major role. He is reportedly playing the antagonist’s part. Malavika Mohanan plays the female lead’s part. ‘Kaithi’ fame Arjun Das, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Gouri Kishan, Ramya Subramaniam, Sriman, Ramesh Thilak and many others are part of the cast.

Young sensation Anirudh Ravichander is trusted with the music department and Sathyan Sooryan handles the cinematography. Xavier Britto is producing the film which is scheduled for an April release next year.
