Thalaivi: Baahubali writer Vijayendra Prasad to script AL Vijay’s version of Jayalalithaa biopic

Today, on the birth anniversary of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, director AL Vijay announced her biopic. The movie titled ‘Thalaivi’ will be produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri. It has been planned as a trilingual in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Vijayendra Prasad, who has penned films like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Bhajrangi Bhaijaan’ is scripting this film. The title poster was shared by India’s leading trade analyst Taran Adarsh. He has tweeted,

‘Thalaivi’ will have cinematography by Nirav Shah and music by GV Prakash. Antony will be handling the edits. National award winning Malayali make up man Pattanam Rasheed has also been signed for this prestigious project. Details regarding who will be playing Jayalalithaa’s role and other cast members have not yet been revealed.

Earlier, A Priyadaarshani, a former associate of Mysskin, had announced another biopic on Jayalalithaa. The movie titled ‘The Iron Lady’ has Nithya Menen playing the late CM’s role. Legendary filmmaker Bharathiraja had also announced that he would be helming a biopic on Jayalalithaa titled ‘Thaai: Puratchi Thalaivi’.

It remains to be seen how these three biopics come out.
