Thalapathy 64: Vijay to team up with this highly promising young filmmaker

For the last few months, there have been several reports about Vijay’s next after the ongoing film with Atlee. While speculations are rife, the actor recently met a few filmmakers and discussed their subjects. It is said that the actor was highly impressed by a storyline pitched by director Lokesh Kanagaraj. If things turn out as per plans, Vijay’s next will be held by Lokesh and it will start rolling by the end of this year.

The youngster made his debut in 2017 with the surprise hit ‘Maanagaram’. The movie, which was a brilliantly made thriller, had Sundeep Kishan, Regina Cassanadra and Sri in the lead roles. It emerged as a critical and commercial success. Lokesh is rated as one of the most promising new gen filmmakers in Tamil at present. It will be interesting to what he has in store for a big star like Vijay. Earlier, he had also planned an action packed entertainer with Suriya but the project didn’t masterialize.

Meanwhile, shoot for Vijay-Atlee duo’s film is currently progressing at a brisk pace. As we already know, it is a sports based flick centred around woman’s football. Vijay plays a player-turned-coach in the movie. Nayanthara is paired with him. Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Induja, Varsha Bollamma, Reba Monica John, Yogi Babu, Vivek, Daniel Balaji, Anand Raj and many others are part of the supporting cast.
AGS Entertainment is producing the movie, which is scheduled for a grand Diwali release in October.
