Thalapathy 65: Vijay and AR Murugadoss to reunite for Thuppakki 2?

Tamil superstar Vijay is in that phase of the career where his films are doing phenomenal business worldwide and his stardom is reaching new heights. The extraordinary opening that his latest release ‘Bigil’ has had is a testimony to that. Within six days of its release, the film is closing in on the Rs 200 crore mark and is expected to set new benchmarks at the box office.

Meanwhile, Vijay has already started shooting for his next film, ‘Thalapathy 64’. It is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, one of the most promising new generation filmmakers in Tamil cinema. Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Antony Varghese, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Andrea Jeremiah are also part of the film.

Even though only a brief first schedule of ‘Thalapathy 64’ has got over, talks about the star’s next have already started emerging. There is a speculation going around that ‘Thalapathy 64’ will see the reunion of Vijay and director AR Murugadoss for ‘Thuppakki 2’.

‘Thuppakki’ which got released in 2012 was a massive blockbuster that took Vijay to the next level of stardom. Latest talks in social medias suggest that director Murugadoss is working on the idea of a sequel. Recently, its cinematographer Santosh Sivan had also hinted about the possibility of a sequel.

An official word is yet to be made but it will be tremendous if such a project materializes.
