Theri had done a better pre-release business than Kabali !

Theri is one of the most awaited Tamil of this year starring none other than Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay and artist like Amy Jackson and Samantha. This cop story which had made with a heavy budget is directed by Atlee and it will be releasing on this coming April month with great hopes riding on it.

Another film that stands head to head with Theri in its anticipation level was the film named Kabali, starred by none other than the Thalaiva of Kollywood, Super Star Rajinikanth. This action thriller is directed by Pa Renjith and it also may come in this coming April or May as per reports. But it seems that before the box office fight begins, Theri had taken a lead already. As per reports coming in, Vijay’s Theri had done a better pre-release business than Rajinikanth’s Kabali.

As per reports, Theri got a distribution right of 6.5 crore from Kerala and Kabali got 6 crore as distribution right here. If its true, then it underlines the fact that Vijay is the Tamil actor with most number of fans here in Kerala and the craze for his films will continue here. Both films were directed by youngsters who impressed with critically acclaimed commercials successes. Atlee’s previous flick was Raja Rani and Pa Renjith’s previous flick was Madras. So it will also a fight between two young guns behind the camera as well.

The details of who bought the distribution rights of these film in Kerala is still not revealed. It is heard that it has been bought by the same team as a package and they had given 12.5 crore in total for Theri and Kabali. Both films were produced by the same producer, Kalaipuli S Thanu and it will be a bonanza for him as both films competes in the market to win over the other. It says that he is planning to make the films releasing with only 15 days gap between the releasing dates.
