Three big Malayalam releases this month!!

After a pretty ordinary 2018, Malayalam movies lovers, trade experts and industry insiders are all hoping for a better 2019. To set the ball rolling, three big films are gearing up to hit screens in January. Nivin Pauly’s ‘Mikhael’, Pranav Mohanlal’s ‘Irupathiyonnam Noottandu’ and Asif Ali’s ‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’ are the three star films expected to release this month.

‘Mikhael’ has been announced as a January 18 release. Directed by Haneef Adeni of ‘The Great Father’ fame, the movie has Nivin Pauly in the lead and Unni Mukundan as the antagonist. Touted to be a family-oriented thriller, ‘Mikhael’ promises to a stylish flick on the lines of Haneef’s earlier films.

Pranav Mohanlal starrer ‘Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu’ is directed by Arun Gopy. The movie is scheduled for released this month, but the exact date has not yet been announced. From the promos, the movie looks like a complete entertainer with equal dose of action, romance and fun. Pranav as plays an adventure junkie in the movie and debutante Zaya David will be seen as his pair.

‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’ marks the third time union of Asif Ali and director Jis Joy. The movie is touted to be a romantic entertainer with a socially relevant message in it. Aishwarya Lekshmi plays the female lead in the movie. Devan, Siddique, Aju Varghese, KPAC Lalitha, Renji Panicker, Shanthi Krishna, Darshana Rajendran, Balu Varghese and Joseph Annamukutty Jose are also part of the cast. Release date is expected to be announced shortly.
