Thuramukham makers release new poster on Nivin Pauly’s birthday

To make Nivin Pauly’s birthday special, the makers of his upcoming film ‘Padavettu’ had released a special video earlier in the day. Following that, a new poster featuring him has been shared by team ‘Thuramukham’ in social medias. Directed by Rajeev Ravi, it is a highly expected film among the Malayali cinephiles.

‘Thuramukham’ is an ambitious film with a promising cast and crew. The film has Nivin Pauly playing the role of a Mattanchery based port-labourer named Moidu. It is said to be a very challenging character and we can expect to see another strong performance from the star after ‘Moothon’. Along with Nivin, the cast also includes actors like Joju George, Indrajith Sukumaran, Nimisha Sajayan, Darshana Rajendran, Arjun Ashokan, Poornima Indrajith, Sudev Nair and Manikandan R Achari.

‘Thuramukham’ is based on the historic protests against the inhuman ‘chappa’ system, that existed during the 1950s wherein copper coins were thrown at waiting workers in a primitive work guarantee scheme, which had resulted in police firing and killing of three workers in Mattancherry. The story is centered around the Cochin harbour and the lives of coastal people in 50s.

Gopan Chidambaram, one of the scenarists of ‘Iyobinte Pusthakam’, has scripted this film. It is produced by Sukumar Thekkeppat of Mini Studio.
