Tovino assures that ‘Maradona’ will not disappoint the audience!

The rise of Tovino Thomas from a supporting actor to a bankable star is quite remarkable. Over the last two years, the actor has made rapid strides to establish himself as one of the leading stars in Malayalam cinema at present. His last release in Malayalam, Mayaandhi was a big success, both critically and commercially. The movie also earned him widespread appreciation for his performance.

Tovino currently has his kitty full with a bunch of promising projects. He has three films coming up for release this year – Maradona, Theevandi and Oru Kupprasidha Payyan. Among them, Maradona will be the first to hit screens. The movie directed by Vishnu Narayan is all set for release this Friday (July 27).

Tovino has pinned high hopes on Maradona. In a recent interview, he sounded highly confident about the movie and assured that the audience will not be disappointed. Vishnu Narayan, who has assisted directors like Dileesh Pothan, Aashiq Abu and Sameer Thahir, is making his directorial debut with Maradona. Krishnamoorthy, a former associate of Lijo Jose Pellissery, has scripted the movie.

Maradona is a romantic thriller with inspiring feel-good elements in it. Tovino plays the titular role in the movie. Newbie Sharanya R Nair is playing the female lead opposite him. Chemban Vinod Jose, Kichu Tellus, Tito Wilson, Leona Lishoy, Niranjan, Jins Bhaskar, Shalu Rahim and Nishthar Ahamed are also part of the movie’s supporting cast supporting cast.

Deepak D Menon is the cinematographer and Sushin Shyam is handling the music department. Saiju Sreedharan, who did the cuts for Mayaanadhi is editing this upcoming movie as well. It is being produced by S Vinod Kumar under the banner of Mini Studio.
