Tovino’s Tharangam gearing up for release amidst high expectations

With a string of successful outings, Tovino Thomas has established himself as one of the most bankable actors in Mollywood. Following the superhit Godha, Tovino is now awaiting the release of his latest movie Tharangam. The movie is touted to be a black comedy and is all set to hit big screens on September 29 as a Pooja release.

Tharangam, directed by debutant Dominic Arun stars Tovino as a policeman for the second time in his career after Ezra. Newcomer Santhy Balachandran is paired opposite him in this movie. Tovino is playing the role of sub inspector Padmanabhan. He is always accompanied by Balu Varghese’s character Joy, also a policeman. Both of them are suspended from the force for being part of an unauthorised mission that lead to the death of a police officer.

From the trailer, we presume the movie to be a fun filled entertainer with elements of suspense. Director Dominic Arun has jointly scripted the movie along with Anil Narayanan. One of the major attractive features of Tharanagam is the production house under which it is being made.

Tamil actor Dhanush’s own banner Wunderbar Studios is making their entry to Mollywood by funding this movie. They have previously produced some acclaimed films like Kakka Muttai, Visaranai, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan etc. The involvement of Wunderbar Studios has naturally enhanced the expecations for Tharangam.

The movie also stars debutante Neha Iyer, Manoj K Jayan, Dileesh Pothen, Vijayaraghavan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Saiju Kurup, Sijoy Varghese and Shammi Thilakan in supporting roles. Deepak D Menon has cranked the camera and Sreenath S in charge of the edits.
