Tamil star Sarath Kumar’s daughter Varalaxmi Sarathkumar to play female lead opposite Mammootty !

Sarath Kumar is a well know Kollywood actor and he is a star there as well. He had acted in some Malayalam films as well and the popular ones are Pazhassi Raja starred by Mammootty and Christain Brothers starred by Mohanlal. His character in Pazhassi Raja had gave him great appreciation as he played the character named Edachena Kunkan with all its energy and intensity. Later he acted along with Kunchacko Boban, Nivin Pauly etc as well in films like Oridathoru Postman and The Metro. Now his daughter Varalaxmi Sarathkumar too making her debut in Mollywood and that too opposite Super Star Mammootty.

Mammootty’s next flick which is going to start will be Nithin Renji Panicker directorial film. It is a cop story and there are reports that the film is tentatively titled as Idiyan Police. The title is not a confirmed one but the heroine of the film is confirmed and it is Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. She had confirmed the news through her social Media account. The film had already begun the filming in Kolar in Karnataka. The combination scenes of Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Tamil actor Sambath is shooting there now and Mammootty will join the sets soon.

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar had acted in a number of Tamil films and her previous one was Tharai Thappattai directed by Bala. She had got great appreciation for her performance in that film as well. Her debut film in Tamil was Podaa Podi and later acted in films like Maanikya in Kannada and Tharai Thappattai in Tamil. Two films are on its shooting stage. One is Nipunan and another is Mada Gaja Raja.

Director Nithin Renji Panicker who is the son of popular writer/actor/director Reni Panicker , said that Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s character had got slight negative touch in this film. He also said that Mammootty’s character will not be the one with over heroism but will have heroism to the level which is enough for his fans.
