OK Kanmani was the recent success in Kollywood directed by none other than Mani Ratnam. Mollywood young star Dulquer Salmaan and another Mollywood actress Nithya Menon were the leading pair of the film and both got great appreciation for their performance in the film as well. Dulquer Salmaan had got some special appreciation even from Amitab Bachchan and some appreciation for him had become some kind of controversy as well.

The appreciation for him from the Bollywood’s master director Ram Gopal Varma was the reason for controversy as he said that Dulquer’s father Mammootty who is the mega star in Mollywood have to learn from his own to act naturally and Ram Gopal Varma went to the extent of calling him a junior artist when compared to his son. That created a controversy as the fans of Mammootty and many others from Mollywood reacted so rudely against the comments made by Ram Gopal Varma.

Beside all these controversies the film got a satisfying success even though it was not a big or grand success. But critically it has become well acclaimed with a financial success made it the talk of the town for some weeks. Now reports are coming through many entertainment online websites that the film is going to be remade in Bollywood and the lead pair of the film will be young Bollywood star Varun Dhawan and Bollywood’s latest heartthrob Alia Bhatt.  Even though it was not officially declared the sources are confirming it.

The Hindi version will not be directing by Mani Ratnam. It will be conceived by Shad Ali who was the disciple and friend of Mani Ratnam. The talks between Mani Ratnam and Shad Ali seems to be over and both of them had reportedly agreed upon the casting of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

Earlier Alia Bhatt was approached to do the female lead in the Tamil version of OK Kanmani but she refused to accept the offer. Later they went to Nithya Menon and she had given a terrific performance. Now after the success of the Tamil version it is reported that Alia is expressed her willingness to act in the Bollywood remake of the film.
