Vetrimaaran to direct a film with Soori before Vada Chennai 2

Vetrimaaran is easily one of the most revered filmmakers in Tamil cinema. Almost all his films enjoy cult status and his latest one, ‘Asuran’ is getting rave reviews from all corners. Meanwhile, the director has revealed that his next film will have Soori in the lead. Like his last few films, this one is also based on a literary work – a poem titled ‘Pattamboochi Virpavan’, penned by the late lyricist Na Muthukumar.

The poem is about a grandson walking down the memory lane and recalls his precious moments with his granddad after his sudden demise. Soori will be playing the lead role and it will be entirely different from the humour roles that he has done all through his career. Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment is producing the film.

Veterimaaran will start works on ‘Vada Chennai 2’ only after the completion of Soori’s film. According to him, the gangster trilogy will take up another two years with shoot and post-production, so he will be doing the Soori film as a breather.
