Vijay gifts more than 200 gold coins to Mersal crew

Thalapathy Vijay is well known for his generosity and compassionate nature. Vijay is one of the very few stars who makes sure all his crew members are properly taken care of. He has the habit of gifting every crew member something special after the completion of all his films and he has continued the same gesture once again.

Vijay has gifted over 200 gold coins to all the unit members of his upcoming Mersal. The news was confirmed by several sources close to the unit. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted,

Last time for Bairavaa, Vijay gifted gold chains to his director, cast members and other main technicians. Veterans in the industry have earlier said that Vijay, like the legendary MGR always tries to ensure that his unit members are paid well and get fair treatment during the shooting stages.

Meanwhile, shoot for Mersal has almost been wrapped up with only a few patch up scenes and a song left to be filmed. This Atlee directorial is one of the most expected Tamil films of the year. AR Rahman is scoring music for this movie, produced by Sri Thenandal Films.

The makers are planning for a grand audio launch, scheduled to be held on August 20. Reports suggest that the movie’s teaser will also be unveiled during the function. Vijay is playing a triple role in the film, a first such attempt in his career. Nithya Menon, Kajal Agarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen as the female leads. The movie is scheduled to hit screens worldwide in October, for this year’s Diwali.
