Vijay in a new look for his next with Atlee

Ilayathalapathy Vijay was recently spotted in the Vikatan awards in a never before seen look. The actor was seen sporting a thick twirled mustache and trimmed beard. It is believed to be his new look for his next movie with promising young director Atlee. Often criticized for not experimenting with his looks, this new get up from Vijay has been well received by the viewers. Photos from the event has been trending all over in social media pages.

Vijay earlier worked with Atlee in Theri, which was a massive blockbuster grossing more than 100 crores from the box office. The new movie with Atlee, tentatively titled as Vijay61 will reportedly have three female leads. Kajal Agarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Jyothika are said to be part of the cast.

There are also reports doing the rounds about filmmaker turned actor SJ Suryah playing the antagonist in this highly anticipated flick. The actor is also playing the baddie in director AR Murugadoss’ Telugu movie with superstar Mahesh Babu.

The movie will go on floors by February first week. Most portions of the movie will be shot in the US. Academy Award winner AR Rahman is most likely to be the music director for this project.

Meanwhile, Vijay’s latest release Bairavaa released on January 12 as a Pongal release is running successfully even after mixed reviews from the critics. Though the movie is an usual commercial potboiler, fans and family audience seem to have taken a liking to the movie as it is evident from the huge numbers in the initial collections. Directed by Azhagiya Tamizh Magan fame Bharhathan, the movie feature Keerthy Suresh as the female lead.
