Vijay Sethupathi says that he loved Kappela!

‘Kappela’ continues to get great response. After its release in Netflix, the film has been getting much appreciation from non-Malayali audience. In a recent interview, Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi said that he had watched the film during the lockdown days and really loved it. Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had also shared about how impressed he was with the film.

‘Kappela’ is directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Muhammed Mustafa. The film stars Anna Ben, Sreenath Bhasi and Roshan Mathew play the lead roles. It is the story of a young woman from a rural area who gets trapped in a tricky situation. Basically, the film tries to tell how human perceptions can go awfully wrong.

As it is the case with most quality Malayalam films, ‘Kappela’ will soon be getting remade in other languages. The film’s Telugu remake rights have already been bagged by Sithara Entertainments, who had backed blockbuster films like ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramulo’ and ‘Jersey’. Details regarding the cast and crew are not yet known.
