Vijay Sethupathi’s Tughlaq Durbar opts for a direct OTT release

Vijay Sethupathi has multiple projects lined up and one of the most promising among them is ‘Tughlaq Durbar’. The film is directed by debutant Delhi Prasad Deenadayal is a mass entertainer centred around local politics. The film’s has been long delayed due to the pandemic. It is now learnt that the makers have opted for a direct OTT release. Disney + Hot Star has bagged the streaming rights, and an original word regarding the release date will be out soon.

According to the makers, ‘Tughlaq Durbar’ has an out-and-out mass subject. Vijay Sethupathi plays a character named Singam. The story revolves around his transformation from a betrayer into a good person. Raashi Khanna is paired with Sethupathi in the film. Malayali actress Manjima Mohan is also playing a prominent role as his sister. Veteran actor Parthiepan essays the antagonist’s role.

The film’s technical team includes Manoj Paramahamsa as the DOP and Govind Vasantha as the music director. Balaji Tharaneetharan, who has directed films like ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’ and ‘Seethakaathi’, has written the dialogues. It is being produced jointly by 7 Screen Studio and Viacom 18.
