Vijay Superum Pournamiyum: Asif Ali and Mamta Mohandas in Jis Joy’s next!

Of late, there have been a lot of speculations about the cast of director Jis Joy’s upcoming movie. Following weeks of baseles reports, it has finally been made official that Asif Ali would be playing the lead in the director’s new movie. Jis Joy’s previous two films – Bicycle Thieves and Sunday Holiday – also had Asif Ali as the hero. Their upcoming movie is titled as ‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’.

The highly talented Mamta Mohandas has been signed as the female lead, marking her reunion with Asif after a gap of nine long years. They last played a pair in Sathyan Anthikad’s Katha Thudarunnu. It will be interesting to see their on-screen chemistry after such a long gap.

Jis Joy has established himself as a bankable filmmaker with both his movies, Bicycle Thieves and Sunday Holiday, emerging successful at the box office. While Bicycle Thieves was an average grosser, Sunday Holiday, released last year, was a superhit success. It was one of the biggest hits in Mollywood last year. The movie enjoyed a theatrical run of over 100 days in a good number of centres. A grand success party of the movie has been planned to be held in Muscat on March 1.

While Bicycle Thieves was a thriller, Sunday Holiday was a fun feel-good entertainer. So, it will be interesting to see what the director has come up with for his upcoming movie ‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’. Stay tuned to this space for more updates.
