Vikram hints that Shankar’s next is with Vijay

For a while now there have been speculations about Vijay teaming up with director Shankar. Though an official confirmation has not yet been made, it is being widely reported that the project will materialize next year. Adding fuel to the speculations, actor Vikram, in a recent interview hinted that Shankar’s next film will be with Vijay. Vikram is friends with both of them and have often been spotted together in public events.

Apparently, Shankar is planning to make a political film with Vijay on the lines of his own ‘Mudhalvan’. Considering his huge popularity and the growing interest among the Tamil audience about his entry to politics, a Shankar-style political film will be a huge booster for Vijay at this stage of his career.

Shankar is currently working on ‘Indian 2’ with Kamal Haasan. After going on floors in January, the project was shelved briefly due to various reasons. The makers are now planning to resume shoot from August. Vijay meanwhile has the Atlee directorial ‘Bigil’ getting ready for Diwali release. His next after that is with ‘Maanagaram’ fame Lokesh Kanagaraj, and it is said to be a gangster flick.
