Vishnu Unnikrishnan to play a pivotal role in Mammootty’s next

We had recently told you that popular cinematographer Shamdat is turning a filmmaker through an upcoming Mammootty starrer. The movie is all set to go on floors next week in Kochi.

Mammootty will be seen as a police officer in the movie. This yet-to-be-titled movie is said to be a crime thriller and Mammootty will be seen as an investigative officer.

Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan fame Vishnu Unnikrishnan is playing a pivotal role in this movie. This movie is expected to be a major break in the actor’s budding career. Last year, he had impressed the auidence with his energetic and lively performance in the Nadirshah directorial.

The movie was a sleeper hit which went on to enjoy a theatrical run of over 100 days. Director Shamdat was the DOP in Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. He roped in Vishnu for his debut directorial after being impressed with the youngster’s performance in the movie.

Vishu’s co-star from the movie, Lijomol Jose is also part of the Mammootty starrer. This crime thriller doesn’t have a heroine as such, as it is a tale of many characters. Kochi, Chennai and Pollachi are the major locations.

Shamdat is a renowned cinematographer noted for his works in movies like Ritu, Seniors, Oozham and the recently released Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. He has worked with Kamal Hassan in movies like Uttama Villain and the yet to be released Vishwaroopam 2.
