Viswasam crosses Rs 100 crore gross at the worldwide box office

Ever since its release on January 10, Thala Ajith starrer Viswasam has been doing massive business, especially in the Tamil Nadu market. Despite clashing with superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta, Viswasam has had a great so far. The holiday season and the fact that the movie is a rural mass entertainer has helped the movie in atrracting the family audience.

As per latest reports, Viswasam has crossed Rs 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office. Trade anlayst Ramesh Bala confirmed the same by tweeting,

Viswasam, Ajith’s fourth film with director Siva evoked mixed feelings prior to release as the actor-director duo’s last film, Vivegam, was a huge disappointment. But the combo have struck gold this time by successfully dishing out an entertainer aimed at the families who throng theatres in large numbers during this festive season.

With a charismatic actor like Ajith at the helm of things and equally spaced out songs, romance, comedy and family emotions, Viswasam has everything that one would expect from a mass masala entertainer. In the rural B and C centres in Tamil Nadu, the movie is running to packed houses and has outnumbered Petta in some major areas.
