Vysakh to make another movie with Mammootty before Raja 2!

The massive success of Pulimurugan has turned Vysakh to one of leading filmmakers in the industry at present. A 100 crore business was unforeseen and successfully broke all the misconceptions about the reach of Malayalam cinema. Ever since the release of Pulimurugan, audience have been waiting to hear about the director’s upcoming projects.

Though Vysakh has announced multiple projects with all leading stars in the industry, nothing materialized over the past one year. He had announced a project with Mammootty, which is the spin off on his character Raja from his 2010 blockbuster Pokkiriraja. Pulimurugan writer Udhayakrishna is scripting Raja 2, which was earlier reported to go on floors by mid 2018.

In a recent interview, Vyskah revealed that he currently has committed for around four projects apart from a Tamil movie and another one with Nivin Pauly. Apparently, the director is planning to make another movie with Mammootty before moving on to Raja 2. However, he refused to divulge more details as discussions are still in the early stages. He was also quick to add that Raja 2 is definitely happening and assured that an official announcement about his future projects will be made very soon.

Meanwhile, Mammootty has signed for a handful of projects this year. He is currently shooting for Shaji Padoor’s Abrahaminte Santhathikal: A Cop Story. Mamankam, Kunjali Marakkar IV and Oru Kuttandan Blog are some of his other projects in the pipeline. His next release is Street Lights, a thriller directed by Shamdat. The movie is slated to hit screens on January 26.
