When Vysakh visited the sets of Mammootty’s Yatra!

Mammootty is currently in Andhra Pradesh shooting for his new Telugu film, Yatra. The movie directed by Mahi V Raghav is the biopic of former AP Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Shoot for the movie is progressing at a brisk pace. Last day, director Vysakh had visited the sets of Yatra for the discussions of his upcoming film, Madura Raja, with Mammootty. The director was stunned by the huge crowd amidst which the shoot was happening. He shared a photo taken from the location in his social media handle and captioned it as,

Unlike other regular biopics, Yatra is an event based film. It primarily focuses on the time during YSR’s famous three-month-long padayatra in 2003, which was a changing point in his political career. YSR is one of the most popular and revered politicians that the state of Andhra Pradesh has ever seen. He is still regarded as a people’s leader and respected all over. Yatra team is hoping to make the movie as a fitting tribute to the iconic leader.

Apart from Mammootty, the movie also stars Rao Ramesh, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Posani Krishna Murali, Vinod Kumar and Sachin Khedekar. Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devi Reddy are jointly producing the movie under their banner of 70MM Entertainments. It is slated for a grand worldwide release on December 21.
