Who will break Loham first day collection record ? Kali or King Liar ?

The summer releases are on its way and it will start from this week release Darwinte Parinamam in which Prithviraj is the male lead. But there is not much hype around the movie even though people have hopes in it due to Prithviraj’s golden run off late. All the hype is around the movies that releasing next week. Kali starring Dulquer Salmaan and Sai Pallavi, directed by Sameer Thahir and King Liar starring Dileep and Madonna Sebastian which is coming from Siddique Lal team. Due to the heavy anticipation level it can take a huge opening at box office and everybody now looking forward to see whether any of these films can break the opening day collection record set by Loham, starred by Mohanlal and directed by Renjith last year.

Loham had released in 141 screens in Kerala and raked in a first day gross above 2.5 crore rupees on its opening day. Mohanlal the biggest crowd puller of Kerala did it for the second time as his Casanova with 2.13 crore was the record holder till then. Then came Charlie last year and it had expected to surpass Loham first day record due to the heavy anticipation level it has. It was released around 120 screens. But only managed to rake in 2.06 crores on its first day and came only at the 3rd place in the list below Loham and Casanovva.

Then everybody expected Nivin Pauly’s film Action Hero Biju to surpass that record. It had released in 131 screens in Kerala. But it only took an opening of 1.59 crore on its first day and not came anyway near Loham. Now, Kali and King Liar, which is planning a big release above 100+ screens and also with great anticipation level is expected to challenge that record set by Mohanlal.

King Liar said to have more chance as Kali is releasing on a Saturday which is happened to be the one that follows Good Saturday. It can affect the collection as per some sources. King Liar is on a Sunday and that too on an Easter day, said to have better chance than Kali to break that record.
