Wow! Nayanthara’s remuneration is higher than the budget of most Malayalam movies!

Nayanthara is easily the most wanted actress in South Indian cinema. She enjoys massive popularity particularly in Tamil Nadu and the Telugu speaking states. She is widely regarded as the ‘Lady superstar’ of the South. Just like in the case of leading male stars, scripts are being written for Nayanthara.

Recently, the actress was signed to play the female lead in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s multilingual period film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. According to latest reports, Nayanthara has charged a whopping remuneration of Rs 6.50 crores for working in this movie.

Interestingly, her remuneration is higher than the budget of most Malayalam movies. Here, most movies, including some superstar films, are being made on a very small scale with a budget lesser than Rs 5 crores. Nayanthara enjoys a kind of stardom that is perhaps higher than most heroes of this generation.

Unlike other heroines, Nayanthara is very particular about her character’s prominence in the movie’s storyline. She commits only those movies that offer her scope for performance. The actress currently has a slew of films in her kitty; both with new age filmmakers and veterans. Her next release is Velaikkaran, directed by Mohan Raja. She will be sharing screen space with Sivakarthikeyan and Fahadh Faasil in this movie, tipped to be a socially relevant commercial entertainer.

Ajay Gnanamuthu’s Imaikka Nodigal, Gopi Nainar’s Aramm, Chakri Toleti’s Kolaiyudhir Kaalam, Telugu superstar Balakrishna’s 101st film and Dhyan Sreenivasan’s Love Action Drama with Nivin Pauly are some of her upcoming movies.
