Yatra tops the list of most anticipated Indian movies of 2019

Yatra, the YSR biopic starring megastar Mammootty is set to hit screens in February. The movie directed by Mahi V Raghav has massive expectations among the audience. Proving the same, Yatra has topped the list of most anticipated Indian movies of 2019. The list has been released by Internet Movie Date base, popularly known as IMDb. The ratings are determined by customers who rank films and TV shows.

In the list of top 10 anticipated movies of 2019, Yatra is followed by Simmba, NTR: Kathanayakudu, Super 30, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Uri: Surgical Strike, Viswasam, Oru Adaar Love, Tantra and Irupathiyonnam Noottandu

YS Rajasekhara Reddy aka YSR is arguably the most popular and revered politicians that the state of Andhra Pradesh has ever seen. Even after years of his demise, he is widely regarded as a people’s leader and respected by millions. Yatra team is hoping to make the film as a fitting tribute to the iconic leader. Unlike other regular biopics, Yatra is an event based film. It primarily focuses on the time during YSR’s famous three-month-long padayathra in 2003, which was a changing point in his political career.

YSR’s role is said to be one of the most challenging roles in Mammootty’s career. In the posters and teasers released by the makers, Mammootty looks etremely convincing with his perfect Telugu diction and larger-than-life screen presence. Apart from Mammootty, the movie also stars Rao Ramesh, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Posani Krishna Murali, Vinod Kumar and Sachin Khedekar.

Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devi Reddy are jointly producing the movie under their banner of 70MM Entertainments. It will be released simultaneously in Telugu and Malayalam on February 8.
