Idea for Queen Malayalam movie originated from that Mechanical Onam celebration photo !!

Queen, a movie about the story of a girl who joins mechanical engineering department is all set to start rolling. The movie stars newcomers in the lead roles, while some senior actors will also be part of the cast.

Mechanical engineering is generally considered as a boys’ only department. What happens when a girl joins the department? The plot of the Queen discusses the same. Directed by debutant Dijo Jose Antony, the first look poster released by the team has invoked curiosity among the youngsters of the State.

The posters resembles a photo that went viral during the 2015 Onam. The photo was taken during the Onam celebration of Mechanical engineering department students of Sree Buddha Engineering College in Pattoor. It was shared by students on social media platforms and it soon went viral.

Ask the director about the poster’s resemblance to the photo, he said, “That photo sparked an idea for our movie. We developed a story for our debut venture inspired by the photo. Me and my scriptwriters, Jebin Joseph Antony and Sharis Muhammed are all engineers. So we decided to visit the college and the Chairman to know more about the background of mechanical engineers today.”

Director Dijo Jose Antony has assured that the movie will be an fun filled entertainer that will be liked by the auidence of all age groups. He said, “The movie will have a refreshingly new flavour of life and would definitely connect with all audiences, engineers and non-engineers alike”.

A new production and distribution company Arabian Dreams and Entertainment headed by Rinu and Shibu K Moideen will be producing this movie. Interestingly, both the producers are also mechanical engineers.

“Being in a mechanical engineering batch is a very different experience and this movie will definitely have a signature of its own”, says the producers.

The movie will start rolling in March, 2017. Casting call for the lead roles will commence soon.
