Low budget Malayalam movies getting big response here in Kerala Box Office now

Mollywood is changing now as stardom is slowly getting irrelevant here and people only want to see good movies irrespective of the stars in it. Even big stars cannot guarantee the success of their movies and small films getting great response from box office here.

Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly, Dileep, Prithviraj etc are the big stars here in Kerala now. But even they cannot assure the success of a movie with their presence in it. In last few months, the movies got great response from here are small movies like Happy Wedding, Kismath, Lens, Ozhivu Divasathe Kali etc which had no big stars in it.

Happy Wedding was a movie, which had a production coast below 1 crore rupees. But it had collected more than 13 crores from its worldwide run. That is a great profit indeed. Movies like Kismath, Lens, Ozhivu Divasathe Kali etc also got great reviews and these low budget movies made very good business in box office.

Proper marketing and promotional methods are a must for these movies and if it is done correctly, then there is the chance of the emergence of a parallel industry here in Mollywood just like in Tamil film industry. It will make our industry big and financially stable as well. The success of these films is a proof of that.

Big production companies also coming forward now to produce small films and they too not looking for big stars. It was really a welcome change and a sigh of relief for newcomers in the industry.
