Article 15 Tamil remake starring Udhayanidhi Stalin titled as Nenjukku Needhi

We had earlier reported about the hit Hindi film ‘Article 15’ getting remade in Tamil with Udhayanidhi Stalin as the lead. The film has been titled as ‘Nenjukku Needhi’. An intriguing motion poster has also been released by the makers.

Bollywood-based producer Boney Kapoor had bagged the Tamil remake rights of ‘Article 15’. ‘Kanaa’ fame Arunraja Kamaraj is directing the remake version. The film has Udhayanidhi playing a cop’s role for the first time in his career. Tanya Ravichandran plays the female lead.

‘Article 15’ directed by Anubhav Sinha is a highly acclaimed film. It is about the Article 15 of the Indian Constitution, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. The film has Ayushmann playing a city-bred police officer who investigates the missing of three teenage girls from a village. It slowly turns into his fight against the caste system after he realized that caste-based discrimination and other crimes are dismissed in rural India. It will be interesting to see how the makers adapt this in a Tamil setting.

‘Nenjukku Needhi’ is produced by Romeo Pictures and presented by Boney Kapoor’s Bay View Projects LLP in association with Zee Studios.
