The official trailer of Bollywood’s upcoming space film ‘Mission Mangal’ has just been released. The movie directed by Jagan Shakti is about Mangalyaan, India’s first interplanetary mission to reach the Mars orbit. There is a star-studded cast in the film lead by Akshay Kumar. Vidya Balan, Nithya Menen, Tapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi and ‘Pink’ fame Kirti Kulhari will be seen in other prominent roles.

As per the makers, ‘Mission Mangal’ is the incredible, true story of a scientist, Rakesh Dhawan, played by Akshay Kumar and Tara Shinde, played by Vidya Balan, who lead a motley team of scientists who overcame their personal challenges and failures to serve as the brains behind one of the greatest missions in history: the launch of India’s first satellite to Mars, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence.

The technical crew of ‘Mission Mangal’ comprises of Ravi Varman as the cinematographer and Amit Trivedi as the composer. Chandan Arora is in charge of the edits. Fox Star Studios, Hope Productions and Cape Of Good Films are jointly funding this movie, which is slated to hit screens worldwide for Independence Day on August 15.
