Kathakal Paraye: Here’s a new song from Stand Up

‘Stand Up’ starring Nimisha Sajayan and Rajisha Vijayan in the leads hit screens on December 13. The film has got positive reviews from all the centres. Meanwhile, the makers have released a new video song online. Actor Prithviraj shared the song through his official social media handle. The track titled as ‘Kathakal Paraye’ is sung by Sayanora Philip, composed by Varkey and lyrics are penned by Bilu Padmini.

‘Stand Up’ directed by Vidhu Vincent is a hard-hitting film that tells the story of a strong-willed rape survivor. Umesh Omanakuttan has scripted the film. Since the film is directed by a woman filmmaker, it is very sensitively made with almost zero male gaze. Director Vidhu has done extremely well to capture the trauma of women who suffer from abusive relationships. This song also comes at a very crucial juncture in the film.

Though Rajisha and Nimisha play the lead roles, it is the former who has a more powerful role and she has delivered her career best performance. ‘Stand Up’ also stars Arjun Ashokan, Venkitesh, Nisthar Sait, Seema, Sajitha Madathil, Jolly Chirayath, Rajesh Sharma, Sunil Sukhada, Divya Gopinath, Junice and Sethulekshmi in supporting roles.

B Unnikrishnan and Anto Joseph have produced the film and is expected to have a good run in theatres.
