Patiala Peg: Here’s a peppy new song from Happy Sardar

Kalidas Jayaram’s new film ‘Happy Sardar’ is gearing up for release. The movie marks the debut of writer-director couple Sudip Joshy and Geethika Sudip. Kalidas plays a Punjabi Sardar named Happy Singh in the film. Last day, a new song from the film was released online. Titled as ‘Patiala Peg’, this fun track is sung by Zia Ul Haq. Gopi Sunder has composed the song and it has catchy lyrics by BK Harinarayanan. Kalidas, debutante Merin Philip, Sreenath Bhasi and Siddhi Mahajankatti of ‘Aanandam’ feature in this peppy track.

As per the makers, ‘Happy Sardar’ is a fun entertainer that is centred around a love story between a Punjabi and a Malayali Christian girl. Merin Philip is paired with Kalidas in the movie. Bollywood actor Javed Jaffrey will be appearing in a prominent role as Kalidas’ father. There is also an elaborate supporting cast comprising of Siddique, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Shanthi Krishna, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Maala Parvathi, Vishak Nair, Ramesh Pisharody, Dharmajan, Praveena and Baiju.

Cinematographer Abhinandan Ramanujam, composer Gopi Sunder and editor Shameer Muhammed form the movie’s core technical crew.
