“The Greatest Pleasure Comes From Killing a Human”: Mammootty’s Kalamkaval Pre-Release Teaser Out Now

The pre-release teaser for Kalamkaval, directed by Jithin K. Jose and starring Mammootty and Vinayakan in lead roles, is now available. The teaser was launched today at a vibrant event held in Kochi. This is the second teaser of the film, following the first teaser and trailer, both of which received an excellent response from audiences. Kalamkaval is set for a global theatrical release on December 5. Mammootty, along with the film’s 23 female leads and the technical crew, officially unveiled the new teaser. Several prominent Malayalam actors and technicians were also present at the launch ceremony.

Produced under Mammootty Kampany and distributed in Kerala by Wayfarer Films, Kalamkaval marks the seventh film from Mammootty Kampany. Jishnu Sreekumar and Jithin K. Jose wrote the screenplay.

The teaser hints that Vinayakan plays a police officer investigating a series of missing women, while Mammootty appears to be portraying a psychopathic killer who derives pleasure from murder. Mammootty’s chilling dialogue in the teaser—“The greatest pleasure comes when I kill a human”—strongly reinforces this suggestion.

In Tamil Nadu, the film is being distributed by Future Runup Films, known for handling major Malayalam releases, including the blockbuster Lokah. Advance ticket booking for Kalamkaval in Kerala opened today at exactly 11:11 AM. Gulf region bookings have also begun, with Truth Global Films handling the film’s overseas distribution. Director Jithin K. Jose, who gained attention for writing the Dulquer Salmaan hit Kurup, is making his directorial debut with Kalamkaval. All songs from the film are currently trending, especially the Tamil retro-styled tracks composed by Mujeeb Majeed, which have received widespread appreciation.

Meanwhile, promotional interviews featuring Mammootty and Vinayakan have taken social media by storm. The interviews were released through the official YouTube channel of Mammootty Kampany and are trending across platforms. Early indications suggest that the film’s highlight will be the powerful performances delivered by Mammootty and Vinayakan in this crime-drama thriller. The film has completed censor formalities and received a U/A 16+ certificate.
