Watch: 83 trailer is goosebumps-inducing!

As informed earlier, the makers of ’83’ have released the trailer online. The Kabir Khan directorial, which is based on India’s historic 1983 Cricket World Cup win, is hugely awaited by film lovers across the country. The film has Ranveer Singh playing the role of the legendary Kapil Dev, who was the Indian team’s skipper then. His real wife Deepika Padukone plays his on-screen wife as well.

From the trailer, we can see that the film is primarily about India’s stint in the 1983 World Cup held in Engalnd. Kapil’s team started off as underdogs before turning the tables and clinching the cup by beating the mighty West Indies in the final. The makers seem to have recreated the 80s and shot the cricket portions authentically. Aseem Mishra is the cinematographer and edits are being done by Nitin Baid. Music department is handled by Pritam and Julius Packiam (score).

’83’ has a huge star cast comprising of actors like Pankaj Tripathi, Jiiva, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Jatin Sarna and Harrdy Sandhu among others. The film is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2021.
