Watch: Simbu’s Maanaadu teaser is intriguing

It is actor Simbu’s birthday today and on this special occasion, the makers of his much-anticipated film ‘Maanadu’ have released the teaser online. Besides the original Tamil version, the film is also getting released in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Top celebs from each industry released the teaser through their social media handles. While acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap shared the Hindi teaser, Prithviraj Sukumaran released the Malayalam version. The Kannada and Telugu versions were shared by Kichcha Sudeep and Ravi Teja, respectively. ‘Maanaadu’ has been renamed as ‘Rewind’ in the other four languages.

Though ‘Maanaadu’ was initially thought to be a regular political thriller, it also seems to have an intriguing time-related concept in it. The film is written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. Kalyani Priyadrashan essays the female lead’s part while SJ Suryah does the antagonist’s role. Vijay’s father SA Chandrasekhar, Bharathiraja, his son Manoj Bharathi, Karunakaran and Premji Amaren will be seen essaying important roles.

Richard M Nathan is the cinematographer and Praveen KL handles the edits. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing music for the film. It is being produced by Suresh Kamatchi under the banner of V House Productions.
