Meghna Gulzar’s new film ‘Chhapaak’ is scheduled for release on January 10. Starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in the leads, this film tells the story of an acid attack survivor. Its trailer got released online and has received great response so far. The film is actually inspired from the life of acid attack survivor and social activist Laxmi Agarwal. Deepika has undergone a stunning makeover in the film as she looks nearly unrecognizable.

Director Meghna Gulzar is well known for helming acclaimed films like ‘Talvar’ and ‘Raazi’. ‘Chhapaak’ has Deepika Padukone playing a character named Malti, who fights all odds and never gives up despite facing numerous obstacles in her path.

From the trailer, we get to see glimpses of another extraordinary performance from her.’Chhapaak’ also marks her entry to film production, as she’ll be co-producing the movie in her KA Productions along with Fox Star studios and Mriga films.
