Kali Collection Report – First Day

Dulquer Salmaan starrer film Kali had released yesterday and this Sameer Thahir directorial film had made a terrific opening at theaters on its opening day at Kerala. The presence of Dulquer Salmaan and Sai Pallavi in lead roles and the name of Sameer Thahir had made this possible. Dulquer Salmaan had once again showed that he is the best crowd puller among the young generation of actors here in Kerala.

As per the reports coming in from trade guides, Kali had made an opening day gross of 2.33 crores from Kerala and the first day share of the film is rupees 1.1 crore. Now Kali stands at second position in the all-time opening day collection report list of Mollywood. It is Mohanlal starrer Loham stands at first with 2.54 gross on its opening day. Earlier came a news that Loham got around 2.14 as opening day gross and later producer Antony Perumbavoor confirmed that the first day collection of Loham is 2.54 Crores.

This is the best opening a Malayalam movie got this year here and the second best is got by Nivin Pauly’s film Action Hero Biju which got 1.59 crore and the 3rd spot is sealed by Prithviraj’s Darwinte Parinamam ,which had got around 1.48 crore on its opening day. Now with this collection of Kali, Dulquer Salmaan had made another film of his, gone past the 2 crore mark at box office on its opening day itself. Earlier he had done it with Charlie last year, which had got 2.06 crore on its opening day.

Kali which got decent reviews attracting the youth to the screens all around. The real box office status of the film will only be known after one week as the trade guides have to analyze how it is going to fare in the working days as it is not a film for family audience.
