Wow ! Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan beats Janatha Garage collection

Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan is on a rampage run overhauling the collection records of many biggies in the South Indian film industry. The movie recently crossed the life time collections of Allu Arjun’s biggest blockbuster Sarrainodu.

Now, trade sources inform that Pulimurugan has beaten the collections of another Mohanlal starrer Janatha Garage. Janatha Garage was a bilingual released in Telugu and Malayalam. Popular Tollywood actor, Jr NTR played the lead along with Mohanlal in this movie.

With the latest record, Pulimurugan is now only the third highest grosser in South India. Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali and ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Theri and are the top two movies.

Pulimurugan was written by Udhayakrishna and directed by Vysakh. It is produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam, under the banner Mulakupadam Films.

The movie released on 7 October, has already minted Rs 129 crore at the box office while it’s Telugu dubbed version, Manyam Puli released on December 2nd has also box office success. It has grossed Rs 6.50 crore from the 12-day theatrical run. The total worldwide collection of Pulimurugan now stands at a whopping Rs 135.50 crore.

Janatha Garage directed by Kortala Siva have made a collections of around 135 crores. Now only Theri and Kabali stands before Pulimurugan. It is truly a remarkable achievement as it showed that Malayalam movies was not just about reality and nativity but also just feasible for big budget commercial superhits
