Anu Sithara joins Simbu’s Pathu Thala

Shoot for Simbu’s ‘Pathu Thala’ resumed recently. The film, which is the official remake of blockbuster Kannada film ‘Mufti’, also stars Gautham Karthik in the lead. Gautham Vasudev Menon is the antagonist and Priya Bhavani Shankar is essaying another important role. Latest to join the cast is Malayalam actress Anu Sithara. A video featuring the actress along with Simbu is currently doing the rounds in social media. There are reports about Anu Sithara playing Simbu’s sister in the film, but the makers are yet to confirm it.

‘Pathu Thala’ has been in the making for sometime now. The project was initially supposed to be directed by Narthan, who helmed the orginal as well. However, it got shelved at the initial stages itself after a tussle between the director and the film’s producer KR Gnanavel Raja. Later it got revived with Obeli N Krishna of ‘Sillunu Oru Kaadhal’ and ‘Nedunchalai’ fame as the director.

‘Pathu Thala’, which has music by AR Rahman, is set to hit screens on December 14, 2022.
