Shoot for Mohanlal’s Odiyan is nearing the final stages. The team is currently in Vagamon for a brief schedule where they will be shooting some important portions. All the three lead actors – Mohanlal, Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier are part of this schedule. Meanwhile, Mohanlal has released a new still from Odiyan through his official social media handle today. The actor looks all intense in his new fit clean-shaven avatar.

VA Shrikumar Menon is directing Odiyan, which is scripted by Harikrishnan. The movie is primarily about ‘odividya’, a kind of black magic. People who practice it are called ‘odiyans’. Mohanlal plays odiyan Manikyan in the movie. The story is set in three different timelines starting from the pre-electricity days in the 1950s to 2000. The narrative follows Manikyan’s life from his childhood to his 60s.

Narain, Innocent, Kailas, Sana Althaf, Siddique and Nandu are part of the movie’s supporting cast. If latest reports are to be believed, the makers have also signed Bollywood actor Manoj Joshi for a crucial role in the movie. A Gujarati by birth, Manoj has done many memorable roles in Hindi movies. He is also a regular in Priyadarshan’s movies. Last year, Manoj won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the Marathi movie, Dashakriya.

Odiyan’s technical crew includes cinematographer Shaji Kumar, editor Johnkutty, action choreographer Peter Hein, art director Prashanth Madhav and composers M Jayachandran and Sam CS. The makers are planning to wrap up shoot by the end of April or early May to ensure a grand release for this year’s Pooja season.
