Devasena’s story from Baahuabli to be made as a serial; Karthika Nair to play the lead

The Baahubali series has ended with the recently sequel but as director SS Rajamouli said, the world of Mahishmathi and it’s characters will continue in various other forms. As a first step to that, the story of Devasena is being made as a television serial in Hindi.

Devasena is one of the strongest female characters ever in Indian cinema. She is a fearless and righteous princess who speaks up in front of anyone about what she feels is right. Anushka Shetty has won a lot of appreciation for her brilliant performance as Devasena.

But Anushka is not part of the serial which is titled as Aarambh. South Indian actress of Malayali origin, Karthika Nair will be reprising the role in mini screen. She is noted for her perfomance in movies like Dammu, Ko, Makaramanju etc.

Baahubali writer KV Vijayendra Prasad, who is also Rajamouli’s father is scripting this serial. Former Mr India Rajneish Duggal will be reprising Baahubali’s role but his character in the show is named as Varun Dev. Veteran bollywood actress Tanuja plays Sivagami, which is Ramya Krishnan’s role from Baahuabli.

Aarambh will be aired in Star Plus. The timing and slot of the show has not yet been released. The show is produced by Rose Audio Visuals and will start airing this year.
