I don’t have any arrogance; your love is my pride: Mammootty

Mammootty is one actor who has constantly been criticised for his so called arrogant attitude. There is a general perception about Mammootty being an arrogant person. Several of his co-stars and directors have admitted that, Mammootty is someone who always speaks his mind and is not one who minces his words about something he feels wrong.

Once while addressing a gathering, Mammootty himself talked about the general perception among the public about his arrogance.

He said, “I don’t feel I have any arrogance, even if I have some it is only because of your love. Director Siddique who has worked in Bollywood movies with top stars have said something about my arrogance to one of my friends Johnny Lukose.”

“Siddique has worked in many industries including Bollywood with many top stars. He feels that while these stars pretend to be humble, I am pretending to be arrogant. My arrogance is like a preventive measure to protect myself from others. In reality, my arrogance is your love. If so many people are clapping and cheering for me, how can I not be arrogant.”

Recently, during an interaction section with fans in Sharjah, someone asked Mammootty about why he is not being social like Mohanlal and about his arrogant attitude.

After hearing the question Mammootty replied with a tongue in cheek question “who should change that conception, me or the public?”

Mammootty has several times made his part clear about such allegations. He has always maintained that he is an actor only on screen. He finds it very difficult to greet and smile at a person, even if it’s a fan, whom he is meeting for the first time.
