Filming of Dulquer Salmaan’s Period Drama Kaantha Wraps Up

The much-anticipated period film Kaantha, starring Dulquer Salmaan as Tamil cinema’s first superstar M.K. Thiyagaraja Bhagavathar, has officially wrapped up filming. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the movie delves into the riveting 1950s murder case involving Bhagavathar and journalist Lakshmikanthan, a saga that shook Tamil cinema to its core.

Produced by Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films in collaboration with Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media, Kaantha is set in the golden era of Tamil cinema and promises to authentically recreate the socio-cultural nuances of the time. With Selvamani’s acclaimed storytelling expertise, previously showcased in The Hunt for Veerappan, the film is poised to be a captivating tribute to the legacy of Tamil cinema’s first superstar.
