Gouri Kishan joins Rajisha Vijayan and Dhanush in Karnan

Shoot for Dhanush’s new film ‘Karnan’ is currently progressing in Tirunelveli. ‘Pariyerum Perumal’ fame Mari Selvaraj is directing the film. Malayali actress Rajisha Vijayan is the female lead. Others in the supporting cast include Lal, Lakshmipriya Chandramouli, Azhagar Perumal, Natty aka Natarajan Subramanian and Yogi Babu. Latest to join the cast is Gouri Kishan of ’96’ fame.

Last day, Gouri took to her social media handle to share a photo taken with director Mari Selvaraj. She captioned it as,

I am deeply humbled to announce that I am on-board #D41 with the phenomenal @mari_selvaraj sir.

‘Karnan’ is said to be based on the Manjolai Massacre or Thamirabani massacre of 1999. 17 labourers, including two women and a two-year-old child, got killed when they dived into the river to escape police lathi charge. Mari Selvaraj himself has scripted the film. DOP Theni Eswar and composer Santhosh Narayanan are part or the technical crew. Kalipuli S Thanu is producing the film under the banner of V Creations.
