Here’s the release date of Dulquer Salmaan’s epic Telugu movie Mahanati

Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan is making his foray to Telugu industry with Mahanati, the biopic on legendary actress Savithri. Directed by Nag Ashwin of Yevade Subramanyam fame, Mahanati has Keerthy Suresh playing the yesteryear actress. Samantha is also playing a prominent role in the movie.

Last day, the makers of Mahanati unveiled the movie’s title logo to commemorate the birth anniversary of Savitri. Along with that they also revealed the release date. The movie will hit screens worldwide on March 29. It is also a being made simultaneously in Tamil as ‘Nadigayar Thilagam’. A dubbed version in Malayalam is also planned to be released on the same day.

While Keerthy Suresh plays Savithri, Dulquer Salmaan essays the role of late actor Gemini Ganesan. The latter was briefly married to Savithri and the movie will showcase more about their relationship. Dulquer is playing the different phases of the late actor, for which he will be seen in multiple looks.

Samantha is playing the role of a journalist in Mahanati. The movie which revolves around Savithri’s personal life and her acting career will also capture the tragic episodes in her life. The movie’s story is narrated by Samantha’s character Rajendra Prasad, Mohan Babu and Prakash Raj are also said to be part of the cast.

Mahanati is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. It is currently nearing the final stages of shooting and the makers are planning to wrap up the project before the first week of January.
