I signed for Mersal only because it is Vijay’s film: Meesha Ghoshal

Meesha Ghoshal is a noted actress who has mostly appeared in supporting roles. However Meesha in a recent interview said that she has become choosy with her roles. Her next outing will be Vijay- Atlee team’s upcoming movie Mersal. Meesha Ghoshal is noted for her roles in films like Naan Mahaan Alla, 180, Ezham Arivu, Raja Rani etc.

Meesha was apparently in the mindset of not doing supporting roles anymore, she could not refuse when the offer for Vijay’s Mersal came her way. In the interview, she stated that she chose to act in the movie only because it has Vijay sir and Atlee in it.

Director Atlee is uniting with Vijay after the blockbuster success of Theri. The first look posters of the movie were released recently and it has ever since then been trending across all social media platforms.

Vijay is playing a triple role in the movie, which is a first in his career. Nithya Menen, Kajal Agarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are the female leads. Vijay will be seen sporting multiple looks in the movie. Filmmaker turned actor SJ Suryah is reportedly playing the prime antagonist. Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Sathyan and Kovai Sarala are also part of the cast.

Baahubali writer KV Vijayendra Prasad and Ramana Girivasan have helmed the film’s screenwriting. Oscar award winner AR Rahman is composing the music for this movie. Mersal is scheduled to release worldwide for this year’s Diwali. It is the 100th film to be funded under the prestigious banner of Sri Thenandal Films.
