IFFI 2019: Lijo Jose Pellissery bags the Best Director award for the second consecutive time!
Lijo Jose Pelissery has brought more glory to Malayalam cinema as he has won the prestigious award for Best Director at the 50th Indian International Film Festival (IFFI), Goa. He won the award for his highly acclaimed film ‘Jallikattu’. This is Lijo’s second consecutive Best Director award at the IFFI. Last year, he was honoured for the film ‘Ee Maa Yau’.
‘Jallikattu’ is one of the most talked about films in Indian cinema this year. The film premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and received phenomenal response from both the foreign and Indian critics. It had its released in theatres on October 4 and did good business at the box office as well.

The Golden Peacock Award for the Best Film this year goes to the movie ‘Particles’ directed by Blaise Harrison and produced by Estelle Fialon.
The Silver Peacock Award for the Best Actor Male for this Golden Year goes to Seu Jorge for the film ‘Marighella’ which was directed by Wagner Moura.
