Jayam Ravi to remake Akshay Kumar’s superhit movie Baby!

Of late, Jayam Ravi has been doing a variety of movies. He is experimenting a lot with the genres. While he played a tribe in Vanamagan, he will be seen as an astronaut in his next release Tik Tik Tik. He also has a ‘Baahubali’ like period flick coming up, Sangamithra, directed by Sundar C. The actor has now signed for the remake of Akshay Kumar’s superhit movie Baby.

The Tamil remake will be directed by I Ahmed, who has previously made films like Vaamanan, Endrendrum Punnagai and Manithan. The original version, Baby, directed by Neeraj Pandey is an action packed spy-thriller. Akshay Kumar, Danny Denzongpa, Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu and Anupam Kher played the lead roles in the movie. Baby, released in 2015, was both a critical and commercial success.

The makers of the Tamil version have not yet announced the supporting cast. In the technical crew Madhi will be cranking the camera. Shoot for this yet to be titled movie is expected to commence by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, Jayam Ravi’s Tik Tik Tik which was supposed to hit screens for the Republic Day weekend has been postponed to a further date. The movie promoted as India’s first ever space flick is directed by ‘Miruthan’ fame Shakti Sounder Rajan.
