Karan Johar ropes in Dulquer Salmaan and Janhvi Kapoor for his next?

Dulquer Salmaan, who has already signed two films in Bollywood this year, is reportedly in talks for another project. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is planning to make a biopic on pilot Gunjan Saxena, and he is trying to rope in Janhvi Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan to play the lead roles.

Gunjan Saxena is a flight lieutenant who was posted in Kargil during the 1999 war. She had heroically evacuated injured soldiers from the war field flying through Kashmir. Gunjan was awarded the Shaurya Vir Award, for her outstanding show of courage in the Kargil war. She became the first woman to receive such an honour from the army.

If reports are to be believed, Janhvi has already started preparing to play Gunjan in her biopic. The movie will be centred around her character, and Dulquer has reportedly been approached to play her romantic interest. It is not yet known if the actor has signed the dotted lines. An official word in this regard is still awaited.

Earlier this year, Dulquer made his Bollywood debut with ‘Karwaan’, a fun entertainer in which he played the lead along with Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar. His upcoming film, ‘The Zoya Factor’ is also a heroine-centric film. Sonam Kapoor plays the lead in the film, which is directed by Abhishek Sharma. The movie has Dulquer playing the role of Indian cricket team’s captain.

Down south, Dulquer has multiple projects coming up in three languages. He is currently working on, ‘Oru Yamanda Premakatha’, which is nearing completion. He will next start shooting for ‘Vaan’, a romantic travelogue. ‘Kannum Kannum Kollai Adithaal’, a rom-com directed by debutant Desingh Periyasamy will be the actor’s next release in Tamil. He is also in talks for a couple of other projects in Telugu.
